Unique basketball business wants to open in Milford

MILFORD, CT – Revolution Basketball owner Mike Welsh offers a one-of-a-kind training facility at 252 Depot Road in Milford.

According to plans filed with the Department of Planning and Zoning, Welsh is seeking to establish a basketball practice program (classified as gymnasium use) of +/- 3,700 SF (plan shows 2,739 SF, the office portion is not counted separately), located at 252 Depot Road.

The existing building and rear building contain a mix of warehouse, manufacturing, office and industrial space. A fence is proposed that will extend between 252 and 262 Depot Road, effectively dividing and limiting the uses on their respective sides of the fence.

Currently, 262 Depot Road and the buildings behind that side are vacant and not part of this application. The main buildings 252 and 262 are being rehabilitated, and the entire site itself is being rehabilitated and restored, in accordance with the state of the minutes.

According to the file, Revolutionary basketball training …. is a “basketball development training center that focuses on improving individual skills”. Specialists will teach and demonstrate “high-level skill development by breaking down footwork, body positioning, ball handling and shooting mechanics with intensity, speed and repetition to help athletes better achieve their own game. “. They currently have an open facility in Manchester.
