These Cyberpunk 2077 mods turn Night City into a ghost town

Witcher 3’s modding project is not just WolvenKit be prepared to support CD Projekt Red’s latest juggernaut rpg game by its creators – Cyberpunk 2077 Mods are now starting to take serious steps on sites like Nexus Mods. So far, the options are somewhat limited to things like reshades and V presets, but there are a few offerings that let you turn Night City into a ghost town, giving your processors a bit of a break in the process.

Drahsid’s ‘Disabled Crowd’ mod does what the name suggests – it simply turns off the varied, retro-futuristic swathes of people who inhabit the new pc game huge city. “Is your CPU crowded?” asks the modder. “Fear not, that turns it off (mostly).” As you can see from the image of Creation in action, it transforms Night City – sure enough palm trees, skyscrapers, and neon advertisements still dominate the landscape, but it looks like all of its cybernetically enhanced inhabitants have decided to give it up, and no one said anything to poor V. Spooky.

Likewise, Muhnoodles’ “No crowds and cars” mod leaves you adrift in a world even more dystopian than the one imagined by CDPR. There are more or less NPCs or Cyberpunk 2077 vehicles – rustbuckets, hypercars, or whatever – to see anywhere.

It seems that it works by turning off the crowds and cars in the open world games .ini settings file. It’s that simple – “click”, and all those crowds are gone. Some NPCs can still spawn, but they’re rare, and a handful of cars that spawn in the distance will disappear if you walk towards them. A ghost town in more than one way, perhaps.

If you want to grab any of these mods, you can find them on Nexus Mods here and here, respectively. If you’re just stuck in the game, we’ve got you covered on this front as well.
