Raiders defensive lineman Solomon Thomas shares with GQ Sports how he spent his first NFL million

Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Solomon Thomas is the latest athlete to detail how he spent his first million dollars in the NFL.

Thomas – currently in his first season with the Raiders – earned a big salary from the San Francisco 49ers, who drafted him with the third overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. With his rookie contract, he spoke of how quickly his first million dollars in the NFL came and went.

The diversity of what he spent it for was intriguing, which included a $ 100,000 bathroom remodel for his parents, $ 20,000 in bespoke suits at a Dallas, TX store, over 300 $ 000 in Tesla vehicles for him and his parents and $ 50,000 in gym equipment for his home.

Most notably, Thomas said he used $ 75,000 to start his nonprofit “The Defensive Line Foundation”, which is dedicated to ending the epidemic of youth suicide.

The # 90 also used his time with GQ to give other athletes a little advice on how to invest their money.

“My advice to a young Stanford man who comes my way is that I tell him to live like he’s still at Stanford, but also to take care of him like he is a football player in the United States. NFL, ”Thomas said. “To invest in your body and save money for future investments.”
