Former Sheffield Sharks junior Nathaniel Montgomery is set for a fifth year as a Shark.
The 5’10” full-back has enjoyed a stellar season as part of the four-man rotation in the 2021-22 campaign.
“I’ve been very happy with my progress, especially in the second half of last season,” Nate said. “Coach Lyons challenged me to work on my strength and fitness last summer and earn my playing time.
“I’m happy to say it paid off, so I’m ready to go again and I’m hungry for more.”
Coach Atiba Lyons was pleased with the progress as the young guard moved through the ranks in the squad’s rotation.
“Like anyone looking to establish a career in any professional sport, it takes time and commitment, and Nate has plenty of that,” he said.
“We all knew he could throw the ball, but the game is at both ends of the court and he showed great progression in all areas. I’m happy for him and I’m happy to welcome him back into the fold.
Nate joins teammates Rodney Glasgow Jr and Marcus Delpeche, both of whom have recently committed their own futures to the organization.
“I’m really looking forward to starting this season and being part of something big here at the Sharks,” added Nate.
“We have a new arena on the horizon, and I have a feeling it’s going to be a great year for the team, the organization and for myself. I can’t wait to get there, it’s been a long summer.
The Sharks take on the London Lions in the first match of the season on Friday September 23 in Sheffield at 7.30pm LIVE on Sky Sports.
