FLORENCE – Lauren Piner, real estate agent at eXp Realty, on Tuesday celebrated the opening of her business and her arrival at the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cut at the James Allen Plaza behind the chamber’s desk. She was joined by chamber staff and ambassadors.

Piner started in July with eXp Realty and works from home. She specializes in residential properties.

Piner moved to Florence in May from Colorado.

“It’s a big change,” she said. “I look forward to the fall.”

Piner said she chose real estate because she enjoys helping people see a home’s potential, especially older homes. She said it’s like a painting that you keep painting to create a new piece of art, where you build on what’s already there and put your own stamp on it.

Piner said her home office is in Charleston and as a real estate agent with eXp she has a sponsor and a mentor.

“I chose eXp because it’s one of the most tech-savvy companies,” Piner said.

She said it was a fast growing real estate brokerage and when COVID hit the company had already set up eXp World, a virtual environment. She said eXp is not working to change how it works during COVID.

While living in Denver, Colorado, Piner was an active member of the Denver Chamber for approximately eight years.
