After LaMarcus Aldridge was medically cleared to compete, Brooklyn Nets fans at Barclay’s Center welcomed him with open arms, but after a long and disappointing season, the feeling is no longer mutual.
Aldridge is another Nets player or staffer hinting at an exit from the organization, possibly looking to reunite with his former coach, Ettore Messina.
Prior to spending five years with the San Antonio Spurs, Messina was a highly decorated EuroLeague coach with two Coach of the Year awards as well as four championships.
Messina left Spurs in 2019 to sign a three-year contract with Olimpia Milano, a club that plays in the Italian LBA league.
Earlier this week, Messina posted the below photos from training on Instagram with the caption translating to “Train in style. CHAMPIONS OF ITALY. Aldridge’s comment hinted at a possible reunion at the ‘foreign.
Aldridge commented, “Let me know if you need a big shot.”
Is this yet another domino in the long line of Brooklyn Net staffers or players not returning to the team?
