J Cole’s basketball career takes a surprising turn in Canada

Most J Cole fans know one thing about him: he can play like crazy. The critically acclaimed rapper is widely recognized as one of the artists who actually plays basketball. That’s why he was invited to the NBA Celebrity All-Star Game several times.

Now, J Cole is looking to bring his basketball skills to Canada. After a brief stint in the Basketball Africa League, the rapper is moving north in the United States, signing with the Scarborough Shooting Stars of the Canadian Elite Basketball League. It’s an interesting move for the rapper, who seems genuinely interested in performing semi-professionally. (via launderer report)

J Cole is incredibly popular among NBA fans and players. The rapper’s affinity for basketball shines through in his music, which makes him popular among hoopers. At the same time, he has worked with several NBA players in the past such as Cole Anthony and some other Orlando Magic players.

Will we ever see J Cole dress for an NBA team in the future? Unless it’s a publicity stunt, probably not. Even in the Basketball Africa League, the rapper struggled to see the court there. Being a professional basketball player takes a lot of time and effort, time that Cole probably doesn’t have due to his other pursuits.

Still, it’s nice to see the rapper pursue his dreams while also succeeding in his current career. We will follow J Cole’s career with interest. We’ll also keep you posted on any highlights Cole could play in the CEBL.
